MexAir R/C opened on September 15th, 2014 in Mexico, NY. Currently run by Marty and Josh Chipkin, we have been in the radio control hobby business for over 8 years operating formerly under the name Redneck R/C. Since our inception in Fulton, NY where Dirt Oval racing was very popular, we have developed many great relationships among our customers, assisting them with their R/C needs, whether it be ground related, air related, or water related.
We had progressed out of Fulton to a much larger location in Baldwinsville, NY where Off-Road racing and Aircraft of all types were the primary focus. Because of major issues with the roof on our new building we were forced to leave that location and in turn we split Redneck R/C into two separate businesses. MexAir R/C has already been established and we are the primary source for any aircraft related R/C products, however, we will still maintain dealerships with the normal distributors such as Horizon Hobby and Great Planes and many more. That being said, we may still special order most R/C products including ground and water related vehicles/parts.
MexAir R/C will have an on-sight flying field with electricity available for electric flyers. This is expected to be completed late Spring 2015. We also intend on expanding the pond that is already on sight into a water runway for float flying!
UPDATE 10/16: The flying field is nearly completed, just waiting for grass to grow. This was a much more difficult task to accomplish than we originally anticipated, but we are nearly there. In 2017 we will be focusing on developing our FPV racing trails. Still more to come!
As far as the hobby shop goes, we will be carrying primarily R/C aircraft, including airplanes, helicopters, multirotors, rockets and all of the building supplies/parts needed. We have a lot more space in the new location to expand our inventory immensely.
We have already developed a new 250-size racing drone called the X4MR250. These are available for purchase in-store or through our website.
